Father's Day

This isn't a long post, just one that celebrates the two amazing guys in my life.

When I was a little girl, my dad would work shift work. That means he would be coming home when most people were getting up for work/school. I would be asleep with my mom when he would come in the room and wake me up letting me know he brought me breakfast. I'd sleepily peel myself out of bed and go sit with him and eat Mc Donalds, or breakfast tacos, or whatever other surprise he would bring home. We would talk about dad-daughter things and in my eyes he was the best dad any girl could ask for. Looking back at it now, I can't begin to tell you how precious those memories are with him.

This year, on Father's day, I can't help but imagine what great memories our kiddo will have with JP. It makes me teary eyed, not only b/c I'm an emotional preggo lady, but b/c I just can't wait for the man I love to make our child as happy as my dad made me.

Happy Father's Day to all of the great dad's out there :)

My guys :)

Halfway there!

I can't believe that I've been pregnant with Baby P for 5 months already! Thankfully everything has been going well. For those moments when I feel like a crazy person (which is often) I have the most amazing friends and family around. I'm lucky enough to have girlfriends that are "new" mommies and they have LOADS of helpful advice and are always so eager to drop their knowledge on me. I love it. My mom and husband are also there to offer up TONS of "you need to do this" or "you should be doing this" type of advice....when that starts to drive me crazy, thankfully my dad is there to put them in check. For those of you that know my dad, he's usually logical and quiet until I enlist his help backing me up against team JP and Vashti. I think JP is learning a few tricks to get me to listen to him a bit more. Case in point:
He realized this morning that I have stopped listening to him, so he's resorted in leaving me notes from our baby, or as we refer to him/her "Junior Grasshopper." All kidding aside, I love that he cares enough to drive me crazy with advice...and I love that he finds ways to make me laugh about it.

The Grasshopper has had an adventure filled time in my tummy so far! This year we've taken our first big road trip together, gone to the Master's tournament, finished another semester of teaching, gone on a cruise with my parents and next week the Grasshopper will be hopping in my tummy as Aileen and Rod get married! How exciting!

Here are some pictures of our adventures so far:

20 Weeks! I have a feeling that our baby will be a beach bum.

Always thinking of "back home"

Trunk Bay, St. John- JP's favorite beach

While the vacation was so much fun, I'm glad to be back home and back to the real world. We've started getting the nursery ready and pretty soon we'll be starting the registry and baby shower fun :) I can't wait!

In the mean time, I'll keep myself busy doing what I do best...was anyone else lucky enough to hit up the new H&M? I loved it!
